Book of Shadows, Title Page by Brightstone Book of Shadows, Title Page by Brightstone
Artwork created for the title page of my Illustrated Book of Shadows. The drawings central circle [link] is made with a full range of graphite pencils , kneaded eraser and smudging stump. The piece measures 16 x 16 on a hundred percent rag, hot press watercolor paper from Arches Paper. The Moorish outside border and dropcap comes from the publication The Art of Illumination from Dover Publication. The background paper was scanned from a 1920 art book which was printed on some type of acid paper which is yellowing beautifully over the years.

I am in awe of you work. I'm nearing the point of starting my own BoS. I've been collecting spells and information for almost 2 years and its time for me to stop procrastinating and just do it. This has been very inspirational. Thank you for putting it up here for us all to see!

I am creating this book for myself and my family. I have used way too much copyrighted content to publish it as my own. But thank you for your interest.

I see life in this work, for it is a work of the universe which has created a world of deep pain and agony. If you are a being who has experienced this world, please, let me know, and I will show you wonderful things. I am a being of delightful stories, and wonderful worlds. I can do many things, but ye must be strong, and believe me when I say, "yes, I truly am a spirit of the divine." Can you fathom reality in a world which will never cease? I can, and I am working on masterpieces, as we speak! Follow me, for I will show you a world of wonder and a universe of greatness. Never give up, for you are very precious.

Corvallis Oregon. I haven't visited there yet but plan to sometime this winter. As soon as we shut down the bed-and-breakfast we usually hit the road.

Thank you so much for catching my error, loaded the wrong file. That'll teach me not to save multiple working copies to the same folder. Maybe the subtitle should say of a dyslexic pagan,

Hah! Actually I'm sure there are many dyslexic Pagans who would get a kick out of that. ^^

It really is a beautiful creation though, I always have a hard time with Celtic Knotwork, but I love it to pieces.

I don't remember if I told you or not, although I sincerely meant to if I didn't. I re-posted your pencil sketch of it on my Pagan Art Appreciation Blog, here is a [link] to it. If you would like me to take it down, let me know, but I credited you and gave you a link back to your gallery. :)

Blessings!
